Dreaming In Dots

There is one print I can't seem to get enough of, in clothing, interiors, stationary- seriously, give me a polka dot and I'm one happy bunny. And in my much expressed delight, there seems to be an outbreak of spots everywhere!

I think the thing with this deliciously cute pattern, is you can take it in many directions, depending on your mood and requirements. If you're thinking Parisian chic then perhaps a dotted thin knit jumper with a dark pair of cigarette pants? How about pastel cute, with a mint green and white speckled dress with frilly socks and sandals? A vintage inspired letter set to send heart felt whisperings to a loved one, delicately sprinkled with polkas and pansies? Here are my top dots!

Polka fever, wearing the Miette skirt I made, using the Tilly and the Buttons beaut of a pattern, matched with a stripy knit.

What are you thoughts on all things spotted? Are you a dotty Daisy or more of a striped Suzie? What's your pattern of choice, if any at all?!

  2. When it comes to clothes I'm all for stripes but polka dots on other things like stationary and interior things are the best! x

    1. Josie, I love your fearless confidence, when it comes to pattern in general. What I'd give to be able to pull off those gorgeous printed trousers! Stripes are super chic and go a long way with simple sophistication, and of course, a sprinkling of spots can brighten up your belongings a treat!

  4. Definitely more of a Dotty Daisy, polka dots are so feminine and, in my opinion, timeless! It's so neat that you made your own polka dotted pieces--you can't even tell the dots were DIY! Love your blog, I followed on Google Friend Connect (:

  6. Polka dots are so adorable and retro. I don't know if I'd have it on a wall, but clothes are really cute.

    1. Haha!! That is quite a commitment to dots huh?! I did that with giant paper dots, for a birthday party, when I lived with friends a few years ago. It made the room look ace but was a little trippy!!
