Pins and Needles

What a happy bunny I am right now, I struck gold whilst perusing the magazine aisle when I found this jam packed issue of Prima Makes. This plentiful selection of simple home crafts offers such a diverse range of DIY makes, including easy to follow instructions, beautiful photographs and all of the patterns needed. You even get a free gift of the cutest fabric and supplies needed to make a wee mouse pin cushion!!

Boy, I wasted no time what so ever, and dived straight into this gorgeous freebie. I traced the patterns at the back of the magazine and used them to cut out the mouse pieces from the floral fabric, including the ears from pink felt, adding seam allowance to all sides.

Using the notches on the pattern pieces, it's easy to stitch the body, head and ears together. Don't forget to include the tail! Leave a small section un stitched, turn everything the right way out and use the provided toy filling to plump out your little mousey, then carefully stitch up the open side. Add some eyes and whiskers and introduce yourself to the cutest new member of your sewing box!

The only trouble is… It's so cute I feel bad putting my pins in it! Perhaps I shouldn't have named her?..

  2. That's so lovely! And nice that something you will use as well, so many of my craft projects just get thrown in a cupboard and forgotten about!

  4. How lovely!! I'd feel bad putting my pins into this sweet little mouse too, perhaps she should be for decorative purposes only now you've named her :) I'll have to check this magazine out in future for other lovely makes xxx
